Worst part is, it has been parked since 1979 and has 106,xxx miles on odometer. 283 engine, manual throttle, 3:73 posi-trac. Engine is stuck now.

Pretty interesting, if it was purchased in december of 66, then it is probably a november or december build date. (is the birthday sticker still in the drivers door jamb?) Look at the VIN on that sucker....sequential number of 13770! DAYAM they were being cranked out.

The guages/bezal looks in good shape. Any cracks? For sale? How can you tell it's a posi? I need to check mine. lol

He said it was purchased in December of 66.
On an original truck, there should be a birthday sticker in the drivers door jamp...on the door its self.
Other than that, it is a crap shoot onless you know the sequential numbers so well that you can pick out what month it was built from that...and I highly doubt anyone knows the trucks that well. Some Camaro nuts or Chevelle freaks who memorize VIN and body tag numbers might learn them...but I don't think any of us can read them that well.
