Need piks of 4 links & bagged rear ends on '73-'87

Hey guys, i want to see some piks of bagged rearends (w/ box off), preferably with a triangulated 4 link, but any suspension set up with bags will help. i am installing a art triangulated 4 link soon and trying to figure out the best place to locate the bags. I would prefer to mount them on the outside of my frame, but dunno if i'll have enough room as i am going to be running an 11" wide wheel.

Also i am curious, will a custom 17" by 11" rim with 315/35/r17 rubber fit in the factory wheel well of an '87, slammed on the ground? I am pretty sure it won't, it will hold me up right? I think that i'll have to modify my tubs higher, and maybe wider too. I currently have 295/50/r15's and they are filling the tub up alot!

Just so you know, the ART Tri-4 doesn't work that well. The upper bars aren't angled enough to control side play. You should consider changing the upper bars to parallel bars like the bottom and use a panhard bar to locate the rearend...

Thanks N2TRUX!!! that helps alot, actually seeing a pik is alot easier to see how things will work. I know it will all become evident when i finally go to install the set up, but i wanna plan things out as much as possible b4 hand to eliminate hang ups. One thing that i have to question though is why would/do you say tri 4's are not so good? From what i have heard from all the guys who do this for a living say that tri 4's are best as they don't allow ne travel from side to side as do the para 4's w/ panhard. I am gonna be running fat rubber so i need to keep things as tight as possible. From what i know about the ART tri 4 and looking at those piks of your buddys truck, it seems to me that he installed it backwards?!? ART recommends that it is installed from the inner frame rails on a 45 degree angle to the axle. Which too me makes sense. If installed properly i don't forsee much sway from side to side, if ne.


baggedc10 - .....ummmm yeah i dunno what i was thinking, now that i have done more homework, i dunno how they pass safety inspections! I would never install one EVER! I thought it would look better, and give me more rise, well i was half right, it would give me more clearance when raised, but from seeing some peoples setups, they look awful! My ride will be a daily (summer) driver and it needs to work and last besides looking kool, i won't get as much rise as i would prefer, but i am used to driving with with my rockers 3" off the ground with a static drop, so i will live

I'll post pictures of my NEW bag' setup next week. May give you a few ideas.....

like N2TRUX said there isn't enough angle on the upper bars to prevent side to side movement. Our frames are just to narrow. There are ways to get around this problem but the easiest way is to just run a parallel 4 bar set up. If you don't care for the panhard bar you could always run a diagonal track bar or a wishbone locator. A diagonal is below.
