TBI fuel injection from Affordabe Fuel Injection

I came across this site when surfing the web. I am pretty interested in their TBI open-loop fuel injection system, the brand new one for $945. Has anyone ever dealt with this company? Is the complete kit for $945 a pretty good deal? Also, would i have to switch to a 87-up distributor if i converted? Is the open loop system better, since it measures fuel demand from coolant temp, and other things instead of just the O2 sensor? I think you can do a Tuned Port Injection for less, and make more power. A lot of used-but-in-good-shape setups go in the $300 to $500 range.

Open loop systems are ok, but for a computer
to actually control an engine in a 'fine' mode, it is better to have closed loop. Both an O2 sensor and a VSS (vehicle speed sensor) I have read quite a bit on fuel injection systems in the last couple of months, mainly because I am installing a GM-TBI 350 into my 71-truck. What I have found is quite good information...but to get alot of the benifits that an ECM can provide, it needs to be in a closed loop. Some argue is TBI worth it, well, I think it all depends on what/how you want to use your truck. For me, I think it will be great. I am also installing a 700R4, which that in itself is highly questionable by some...But I want a good running truck with decent milage. I took all the parts from an '89 Suburban...turned out to have a good computer (for upgrades). The wiring harness, the entire engine and transmission. The super big plus was finding out it was a GM Create motor that only has approx 35K miles on it. Yeah, sure, it has created some minor problems, but nothing that has been a stumper yet...nothing a little extra money cant fix. But one thing is, I am learning this thing inside out....what ever you get, dont lose the manual...if you decide to go used, get the VIN number and everything that is even remotely attached to the computer/wiring harness/transmission/engine...even if you dont think you will need it, take it. The closed loop is the way to go. I have had TPI in my 71 since 87. I installed it with the s& p wire harness, but at the time not to many people were doing this. The hardest thing for me was the gas tank modifcation. You have to have a return line for fuel injection, and also didn't like the idea of a electric pump in the cab with me. Noisey too I would think, since you can hear about everything gm builds underneath cars and trucks. Make sure you get the heated oxygen senor if you buy new, that is a new break through since I did mine keeps the motor in closed loop all the time.

Well, i also hope to put a 700r4 in the truck, and maybe some 3.73 gears too . But, is the price of almost $1000 a good deal? I really dont want to get used parts, then i will have a headache if they dont work right, or at all. This system comes with a warranty. Are their any good message boards that deal with GM TBI fuel injection that i can visit?
