Which 5 Lug axles will fit in a 68 Chev Diff
I bought a 68 Chev and a 68 GMC and I'm swapping out the front cross-member from a 82 chev truck.
But what I need to know is what 5 lug junkyard axles will fit into this diff?? What years of trucks should I be looking for?? I did a search, but didn't find what I was looking for. Thanks.

Find a complete 71-72 rear .Might be the easy thing to do.

You will need to have your axles redrilled by a machine shop or find a later rear end as suggested.

You can buy aftermarket axles that will work. Up to some point in 70 the housings were narrower. Most 70 and everything after that till late 70's early 80's use the same housing width. Check with Scott in Penhold to see if he can hook you up with a complete 70-72 housing.
