No Gas tank filler from the Cab??
The day before yesterday, I saw a very sharp yellow truck of our era pulling out of a gas station. But I noticed that he didn't have the gas filler protruding from the cab like my 67'. Where there trucks from 67-72 that didn't have the tank behind the seat? If so...is there a way that I can convert mine? Not that I mind the pleasant smell of hi-test perfuming my cab, but the extra room behind the cab might be nice!

From the factory , all the 67-72 pick ups had a tank in the cab,& the filler came out in the same place. My guess is that the guy had a burb or blazer tank under the rear of his truck. Wes or GMC Paul should be able to set you up with the parts. Good luck .....69 longhorn.

One of the most disscussed topics on this board.There are several ways to do it.Some guys use a fuel cell,others find a tank that will fit and modify to make it fit.The easiest way I have found is to use the Blazer/'Burb tank.I haven't done it as I have only owned Panels which use the same tank.I think the tank kit is about $250.00.It still requires modifying a filler.You can look up pics of tennman's filler and see one of the trickest setups around.One of the vendors on the board has the tennman setup on his website.

If you get street trucks mag, they recently did an article on the body work end of this conversion. There is a place that makes the filler panel for the filler neck hole which is already contoured to fit. Some options for the rear mounted filler neck are the taillight or inside the bed.

Hey Cheyenne Super, I can't find the article you are referring to. Could you possibily give the company's name that makes this replacment panel for the gas filler hole?
