cab spring????

I havent a clue, maybe you guys might know, inside the cab of my 72 1/2 ton on the passenger side frame of the door on opposite of the hinge side, there is a big spring mounted . yep mounted by a bolt . like a coil spring. what the heck could it have been used for?. there nothing that hooks to it, nothing loaded on it. I can post a pic of this if noone has a clue what I'm describing

The jack handle if it is even with the striker plate on the door. The Jack itself was held down with a spring on the floor below it.
