Can you use full size Chevy Blazer spindles and rotors on a full size chevy truck? And if so what year (6 lug spindles) Trying to find disc brakes for a 1968 Full size chevy truck,and I want to keep the 6 lug look!

you can get aftermarket 6 lug rotors...try Wes, or GMC Paul . i should ask....are you talking 2wd or 4 wd?

i am also trying to do the same. front disk on a 68 2wd. there are rotors on early classic enterprises (ece) 6 lug disk for 89 each and cross drilled for 160 each. then al you need is a donor truck with front disk and switch everything over. i dont know from experience but thats the info that i have gotten from these boards so far.

I am pretty sure you can get the exact same rotors from Paul's cheaper. (I'll asume we are talking 2 wheel drive)
You can't use 4X4 rotors from a later model, they are completely different. Also, you can use the disc brakes off a later truck, up to 87 I believe, they say the easiest way is to rip off the whole front crossmember and swap it onto your rig. Just make sure you remember what year the front end is for future repairs (ball joints and the like) also, the rotors are not the same 71/72 compaired to 73-87...but they have them in 6 lug for either set up. Also, a noteworthey point, the 71 calipers are quite a bit more expensive than the 72 & up... This is all info gathered from this board...I have not messed with any disc brakes on these rigs, so if I made a mistake somewhere in here...please correct me. |
