Edelbrock OR Summit cam ....... ?
I want to buy the Performer RPM cam kit thru Summit for ~ $180 ..... BUT the Summit brand kit, with the same specs, is ONLY ~$80 and it claims to be USA made. Is there is difference beside the price ?
I already have the Performer RPM intake and some hi-po heads ( 2.20 / 160, ported, 492 casting). Ev

....some years back i heard of alot of trouble with summit cams like the early 90's..but i think they solved there problem..i've ran a few and know quite a few people who have had good luck with them also...

for a good priced cam kit, & good quality, you might look at the Crane energizer series cams. i have run several of these cams over the yrs, & no problems. Watch summit, Jegs, & Northern auto parts for sales. good luck,crazyL

im not sure of the differences..maybe the LSA is different. I would go with the crane energuzers too...90.00 for cam and lifters and a great reputaion

im not sure, but at 1 time i was told that Summit cams were General Kinetics grinds.....its been some time back, so who knows? most of the Energizer cams are ground on a 110 LSA ,till you get into the hotter grinds. some are on 106 LSA (rumpity /rump). i have a perf rpm top on my 383, but am running a comp XE 268.....I just didnt feel that the rpm cam was right for a street bound sb. crazyL
