Minnesota Get-Together

Minnesota's been treating me well. It's good to know there's actual dirt under all that damn snow and ice. Now if we can just settle into a string of 65+ degree weekends without the 80 mph winds, we'll be all set. The weathermonkey says it's coming, but I'm not holding my breath.

A few months back, several of us talked about a Minnesota get-together sometime in May. Well, it's May and that means we need to narrow down a date. I'm thinking Sunday the 23rd (the weekend before Memorial Day weekend) would be just about perfect. Maybe the old man (Bumpster) can make it up from Oklahoma with my grill and assorted goodies if we have it then, too.

Basically, I'm thinking a BYOBM&T (Bring Yer Own Beer, Meat, and Truck) thing starting in the early afternoon and running until we get sick of each other, the cops come, or the beer runs out. My wife and daughter (7 year old) will be on-site so yours are welcome, too. Oh, for what it's worth, I live in St. Louis Park just off 100 and Minnetonka. Real easy to find.

Whaddya think, gang?

If you allow South Dakotans then I may be up for it. I am 4 hours away from you.

Come on over! The more the merrier! I'd really like to get an RSVP of sorts. That way I can decide how much to bribe the neighbors.

Bring that adapter plate. You'll need a coaster to set your beer on. One way or the other, I'm swapping the whole package! BTW, did you catch that post I made earlier with the pic of the power steering bracket? Got one?

On a side note, now that I look around a bit, I see there's an entire forum dedicated to board get-togethers. Umm... oops. I'll rest uneasy this evening for fear of Josh's flaming sword of merciless punishment.

I think we're well on our way. Right now, I'm just waiting on other Minnesota area folks to chime in with their $0.02 on the date.

Any weekend day should work for me. Let me know what you come up with and I will let you know if it will work. 23rd looks OK, but can do something else if that's what you decide.

Porky's, eh? I'm not familiar with it (yet). Looks like we've got better than 5 people that are interested so I'd say we're a go for Sunday the 23rd. I'm thinking 1:00 in the afternoon. How's that work for everybody?

I'll post a map to my place with my phone number and other info in the next day or so. In the mean time, PM me if you've got specific questions.

Come on over, David! Bloomington is about 10 miles away from where we'll be meeting. It's a real easy, straight shot down highway 100. I'll be sending that map and contact info soon. I'm sure we'll find you an appropriate award.

Hey there, jerky! I need a small part moved from Oklahoma right to my freakin' doorstep! In exchange, you get beer, food, a place to sleep, and hugs from my wife and daughter.

Well, kids... looks like this one's a bust. Seems nearly everyone has something else they need to do on Sunday. Maybe some other time.
