new to this forum and needing info on relocating gas tank

Hello all, finally found a good info site for my two trucks (71 chevy stepside swb and 1950 chevy 5 window). I am working on my '71 at the moment and i currently have an RCI fuel cell in the bed but would like to actually relocate a gas tank between the rear frame rails under the bed.

My question is, does anyone make a kit, or can I use a tank out of a blazer or suburban? Is there a tech write up on this project anywhere?

Thanks in advance

I don't get out much, but does F$#d still make cars? I thought they only made tractors. Oh, on that stepside, you can put the filler cap behind the driver's side marker light...way cool.

Blazer Tank kit

Here are a few links to help you decide.

Kenny's Trucks has complete kit. Tank, mounts, and sender. The neck needs to come from a junk yard.
Kenny's Trucks
Kenny has the best price on the blazer tank I have found.

This link will give you some ideas on relocating the fuel filler nozzel.Marker light gas door

Fuel door thread
The thread above did have photos but they were lost in the upgrade.

Hope this helps...

Figured i may catch a little flack for my handle but, just to let you guys know, the stepside was my first vehicle I ever owned and I have had it for over 17 years( I got it when i was 16). The mustang has a 347 stroker with a 150 shot of nitrous. It is almost done so I thought I would concentrate on my two trucks now.

Anyway, thanks for the replies.

If you go with a new blazer kit, DO NOT get one that is poly or plastic. Get a steel one, you'll have far less problems.
