Question On the move to Texas

Well I'm moving to of all places Texas San Antonio to be exact. Now I'm a guy from the mountains and have no real use for the heat and flatlands but I met a wonderful Lady down there so see how all my Ex's live in Colorado I needed to do something different. But Texas never entered my mind for a moment Montana yes Washington yes Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming. Anyway I know there is alot of members here from the Lonestar state and I have to ask just what the heck is there to do in that neck of the woods..er oak brush My job as a truck driver from what I have seen should not be a problem to get a new postion. I sold my Western Star seeing how the fuel prices were going way to high for me, So I'm back to being a company driver.

I guess I can Fly Fish for Bass..lol
Any Ideas out there?

You'll be roughly centered between Mexico, the Gulf of Mexico, and Houston, in an area I would KILL to be in. The humidity shouldn't be too much worse than Colorado, and the terrain looks like great 4X4 country. You're also moving to the only state in the union that has literally every terrain feature known in the world except tundra, or glaciers. Check out the maps at this link. Sieze the opportunity. And remember you're in LUV!!! If you like her enough to uproot and change states, you'll make out. But Spanish lessons will probably be required.....

Just stay west of I-45. I was born in El Paso, spent time in Dallas, Austin, Waco, and San Antone, but live in Houston. Houston sucks!! That's why I've got my 6" pipe bumpers. Trips to Corpus Christi and Victoria in your truck most times of the year will be worth while.

Texas - home sweet home

If you can't find anything to do in Texas, then you have mental and social disorders.
Lots of good people, old trucks, pretty women, and enough budweiser breweries to keep the whole country burping.
I also live in Houston. There are lots of great and beautiful places to go.

These are the pipes I use for Houston traffic.

Thanks

Thank ya'll for the help and Ideas. The map link is cool.I didn't think there was any trout in Texas but I'm wrong they do stock some lakes and ponds will the wonders never end lol.

The wheeling is differnt than Colorado but then I have quit the hard core rock crawling when I sold my FJ-40. The K5 is the do it all 4x4 just very light on the hard core stuff..lol.

I'm still looking for work but that is hard when I'm still on the road but it seems like a job will not be hard to find.

Oh I can't bring my self to drink Budwiser. They do sell Coors right?

Bud vs Coors

I'm sure you can find some of that mountain goat filtered beer down there somewhere, but you'll be near the German part of the state also.See if any of those high altitude bars of yours sells Shiner Bock, and give it a try. I don't care for beer, and I'll drink that! They also have Lone Star down there.

Wish I could find a smiley that fit this.
