exhaust leak
i was driving home from class last night and when i got off the interstate i noticed a sound coming from the front of the truck. Sounds like air being forced out somewhere. I am sure it is an exhaust leak. I am guessing the header has come lose or something. Any other ideas? maybe it is the donut gasket.
my question is, will it hurt the truck to continue to drive it without fixing it. I dont have the time or money to get it fixed right this minute. Probably sometime next week or the week after.

most likely just and exhaust leak, if its quiet air then its behind the muffler if its loud air its before the muffler or it could be an exhaust donut or your exhaust manifold bolts are loose

usually a small leak in the manifold area makes a ticking noise, espescially when you step on it. It won't hurt a thing. It'll just be annoying to listen to.

If it's a continous hissing sound, it may be your brake booster sucking in air.

it is not a continuous sound. More like puffs of air. it is pretty loud and i can hear it coming from the front of the truck, so i am sure it is before the muffler. It is going to be a pain in the butt if it is the header bolts. It is coming from the passenger side, so i will haveto get around the A/C compressor and stuff.

Just be careful, you could possibly suck up a valve.
