power brake conversion
i have a couple of questions about a power brake conversion. my 71 has front discs and manual brakes.
1) do i need a new porpotioning valve and master cylinder, or can i use the ones from my manual set up? 2) i just changed all of my brake lines, calipers and wheel cylinders during a brake change. will i need new ones for the power set up? thanks for ya'lls help. |

You can use the same master and p-valve. The rest of your brake stuff will be ok also. You should be able to get by bending (carefully) your lines to the master to move it forward a little to make room for the power booster.

Basicly, unbolt the master cylinder fron the firewall, and slip the booster inbetween.

Its pretty much a piece of cake. (Knock on wood.)
I just finished my power brake conversion less than an hour ago. Just make sure you get the power brake pushrod (from the pedal to teh booster). The hardest part was just bleeding the brakes, which is only b/c I'm slying solo. Good Luck John
