What is the difference in the front air dams for 2WD and 4WD? I was looking at the LMC catalog and they both say that if tow hooks are used you would have to cut out the holes. The one for the 4WD is $20 cheaper. BTW, does anybody have one in good shape they want to get rid of?

Check with the dealer first. They still sell them. I bought one for my truck for $25.00. This is wholesale price which is 25% off list. If LMC is selling GM parts, they will be higher than the dealer. What is LMC getting for one.

BTW, I think the 4WD ones are taller.

The 4wd versions are a little longer so if you have a lowerd truck they aren't the way to go....

I'm looking for a new one too. The K5 I have on my truck has seen better days. Ever since I had the 235/60 tires on the front the dam just dragged everthing. Now with 245/60's it still drags on my driveway. I'm going back to a C10. Definately not buying from LMC. Less plastic and costs $20 more??? It does look good on a lowered truck. I'll post some pics of the difference from my computer at home.
Here is nice shot of the K10 air dam. One thing I did notice was the drag on the freeway. It seems my truck is so low that I actually felt the increased drag.

Hey Brian, I don't think you are hi-jacking it. You are just asking info on a product mentioned above. But they are different. How? I'm not sure. BTW, welcome to the board.

I have a 81-87 air dam on my '74. So yes it'll fit.

It's the short one. Same as came stock on my truck.

Here is a nice shot from the side. The K10 airdam is noticable. The C10 would be shorter. The K10 does a good job of hiding the sway bar and lower control arms.

Anybody have the K10 tall part number? Haven't had a chance to go bother the parts guy at the dealer yet. Might just get it from GMpartsdirect. Unfortunaly finding it on there without the part number is usually an excercise in futility.

From what I recall the front of the frame is different on the 73-80 trucks. It might bolt up but there is a difference if I recall.

I fix them and as such I hate to use them.
