Power windows
I did a serach on them because I thought this was talked about a million times before but I guess not. My question is..... are the after market power window systems any good? ( I see them in LMC ) they are way chaper in price than the original ones. does this mean they are cheaper quality too?
Like these..... about $150 US

All the guys on the 67-72 forum use a kit from A1 Electric and they are very pleased with the results.
Personally I wouldn't use a kit that uses your old window crank to roll it up. They conversion kits look much nicer. On my 77, we used a Specialty Power Window kit. It's not a bolt in like the A1 is, but Roger at Stoked out has installed a lot of them, and prefered to use that kit. We were able to use my manual window door panels too. The switch fits where the crank once was...

hmmm
hey there... well i have seen those kits before...i plan on using a SPAL kit for my crew cab... they make more than one type of kit... they have one with heavy duty motors... but im sure that the old crank regulators wont be too hard on the 'regular' kit (mine are pretty easy to roll up and down) but we shall see when i put em in...heres hopin

I used to use one of the kits that you have pictured and it actually worked pretty well. I had it tied into my alarm so I could roll the windows up and down with the remote. I took it out because I didnt like the look of the plug that covers the factory crank. If I were you I would go to some junkyards and pull a full factory setup and buy two new motors, I pull them all the time and get complete setups with switches for under $40

yeah a junkyard proly would be the best. The doors that I got had them in before and stupid me not thinking that I would never want power windows, told the guy working there to take em out. Mabey he still has the same ones still there?

Yeah i say go the junkyard route too iv'e pulled a complete system from a 2 door s10 blazer and installed it in my s10.
You can't beat the factory set up and you know you'll allways be able to get replacement parts for it. You never know how long an after market co. will be around! |

i have a set of the arms and motors i pulled from a set of doors i have here. You can have the arms and motors for $25 plus ride. I dont have the switches or harnesses but hey its a start
