Pic Request: Custom bumpers

Hey guys I need some inspiration here. Tonight I was backing up into a parking spot and went a little to far. Uknown to me when I went to pull out I had hooked the bottom of my chrome rear step bumper on the top of a guardrail and pretzeled it. So I would like some pics of custom/homemade front and rear bumpers for 67-72 4x4s. Thanks Alot. Josh

I built my bumpers out of 4"x6" tubing. I can get some pics if you're interested in something like that. They're not the prettiest but they are very servicable!
Haven't got the front one back on after the motor swap but it will be in the next couple of days.

the previous owner built this one but i added the D rings. the mounting is kinda cheasy, and i think it sticks out from the front of the truck too much.

Here are mine, I still want to add some D-Shackles.
They are built from mostly 8 Junior C-Channel. The rear is the old front bumper that come on the truck recycled.

I know that its not a 67-72 but it will still give you an idea; I am trying to find a good pic of my rear bumper, but it so hard to see in the pictures. It is 8 C-Channel that is cut like a classic drop bumper. Nothing complicated, just something that will take a lickin' and keep on tickin'!

Here's my 68. The truck was owed by a professional welder, and then his grandsons bought it and put the rediculous paint on it, but he built the bumper and the flatbed. They both work good for pushing things out of the way and for those four legged criders that like to be run over.

Here's the rear bumper. (Try to ignore the truck load of trash!!)

Close up of the step and drop reciever and D-ring.

All in BAD need of some paint!! Gotta get that done someday.

Custom bumpers

Tomorrow i am getting a large piece of c-channel steel for a front bumper for my 1970 GMC K-20. I am going to get 1/4 plate to weld on the back side to bolt it to the frame, and to weld on to the ends and go go back to protect the front fenders. I am also going to buy some thick wall 2in. square tubing for a grill guard. I am also going to weld some tow hooks on the bottom and put a reciever in the center and cover it up while its not in use w/ a flip-down liscence plate step. I will get some pics of it posted once its done.

I've got a reciever in my front bumper to. If ya look really close you can kinda see the license plate bracket that covers it up. I just used a piece of 2 in. square tubing and welded some steel plate on the end of it to hold the license plate. Just pull the pin and pull out the bracket and license plate when I want to use it. I think I've used it once just because I wanted to try it out.

My front bumper is also an air tank if I ever get a "roundtoit" putting on the outlet.
