Smile wheel locks???

What do you guys use or recommend for wheel locks in order not to get your rims and tires stolen? Brand name and type of locks is helpful. I've used some a long time ago and the key was real awkward to use and stopped using them.

Last time I used wheel locks, they stole my whole truck. The truck was recovered a week later minus the wheels of course.

I saw a set hat used a real deep 3/4 inch diameter or so allen keys...all the lugs were like that, it was on an import. Came with it's own lug wrench and all. Pretty cool.
All the others were of the type you descrobe.

LOL, Sorry don't mean to laugh about it, but I guess the moral of this story is: Don't put nice, expensive wheels on your vehicle if you don't want your vehicle stolen.

I guess I'm just going to have to surf the web and auto parts store to see if there is something better than the lock with the clover shaped groove in it and black matching key.

Thanks Jeepster, Longhorn!

Has anyone used this-type McGard lock before? It looks better than the old style mcGard I was referring to earlier without the sleeve on the key.

This is the key type I used to have and didn't care for them at all.

Those look very similar to the factory ones fitted to my wifes '01 Cherokee/liberty. Had to change a wheel a while ago, no problem once I'd found the key!

That style you posted is like what is factory on my 89 Town Car...it is better than the old style, but still a bit of a PITA. I didn't realize they had them out aftermarket yet.
They hold up pretty good... I put my impactw wrench on that key more than once.

I use Gorilla locks on my truck. Can't help you on the model though bought them and put them on over 12 years ago. Havent had a problem with them though and they seem to work pretty well so far.
