I dont own a truck yet but I'm going to look at a 1972 C10 Deluxe 350/350. Only asking around $1000. Also 71 1/2 ton Super Cheyenne is on the list.

I'm wanting a 71-72 chevy that needs to be restored. Are their parts hard to find I should make sure the truck has ??

Whats usually the first step on these trucks after you buy them ?

Well check for rust is the biggie. Under the floor boards, rockers, cab corners, etc. Other than that just the normal stuff. Make sure everything works stuff like that. Oil looks and smells good, tranny fluid looks and smells good. I'm sure others will have some more to add.

Check out the linkage and the clutch if it is a 3-on-the-tree. Ask about the carb too. What kind it is, if it was replaced, and problems with flooding/stalling. Gutter rails would be worth a look also.
