Caliper rebuilding
I am thinking of rebuilding my front calipers instead of getting new ones from the parts store to save some money.
Anyone who has done this tell me what is involved in it to include any special tools I may need. Thanks for the help Tommy

Never done it before. Probably not a lot to it though. One thing to make sure of is check the piston bores. Make absolutely sure they are not pitted or scared. If so, you will be wasting your time.

Tommy,
Do you have a compressor? You might need compressed air to get the pistons out of the bores. Beyond that, it's a pretty simple deal. I have never rebuilt GM calipers, but I can't imagine it's any harder than wheel cylinders or slave cylinders. I have been down that road a couple of times...

Tommy, I don't know if it would be worth your time. The last set of calipers I bought for my 73 were about $15 per side. I would guess the rebuild kit would be about $10, and you would have to do it. They were at Autozone (ugh, I know) but they seemed to work OK.
