front driveshaft u-joints
Pulled my front driveshaft today to replace the u-joints. Any tips on replacing the u-joints in the double cardian end? Does the "centering ball" and associated parts need to be replaced? Thanks!

you should replace the center ball. there is a kit for it. those joints are a pain to get all the parts apart and back together. if you are good at standard u joint then all you will need is some time and you can get the the double joint and center ball all changed out

Agreed. It is pretty easy to do, but can take a while. Good luck

OK. I got the 3 joints and took the u-joints/double cardian apart. It looks like there's a bearing and a seal, it also has a grease fitting. The seal is gone but the bearing had grease. Which part exactly gets replaced/rebuilt? There's the welded on yoke and the yoke that has the ball which has the bearing and grease fitting. Also there was a little spring that was broke in two pieces.

There should be a kit for the Constant Velosity joint. It will give you those parts. There is more to it than just the joints...........as you have found.

something else: The u-joints, while all spicer 1310 type, have different NAPA P/N and the only difference I see is the grease fitting. The two for the double cardian (379) have the fitting coming out of the center at an angle while at the axle end (369) the grease fitting goes straight in the center. Also I marked the H-yoke but it appears to go either way. If I buy the centering yoke do you think it comes with the small parts?
