I saw a setup in one of the vendors magazines (LMC page 161 catalog CB36)that had four spring loaded contacts on the door and cab. to eliminate the wires. They are not cheap.
It seemed to me that it would be the way to go but I really don't have any information on quality or reliability.
Mine are just routed through a small hole with a rubber grommet lining the hole to prevent chafeing of the wires.

We did the power window kit and it cam with a rubber grometted double ended tube that you can run the wires thru. Then we ran the speaker wires thru that. I'm not saying buy power windows just to run the speaker wires, but you could probably get ahold of the rubber tubes thru A-1 power windows, or somewhere like that. Any stereo shop would offer something like that also.

Here is a pic of that rubber grommetted(spelling?) tube

You can get that hose deal from the junk yard in just about any import you see.
Or if you don't want rice parts...I guess there will be plenty of our home built junk in the wrecking yards too.

No Limit has a set-up that is two rubber grommets with what looks like a screen door hinge. It actually looks good when installed. I believe they are fairly cheap from what I remember www.nolimit.net

Same difference. I installed power window setup for a man in a 1947 Ford pickup and I went to Lowes Home Improvement and got some rubber grommets that require a 1/2 hole drill to mount the grommets. You don't want the wire to fold up where the hinges are, so I went to the hardware section and got two springs that have small tension. On the inside of the hinge area around the kickpanel area, I wrapped the wires with duct tape and and mounted the spring to the duct tape and the other end of the spring to a hole I drilled into a lip of a piece of metal. Now when the door opens, the wire follows the door as it opens, and when the door closes the spring pulls the wire back up insde the kickpanel area. You must use twisted stranded fine wire when doing this because solid wire will break over time. You don't need that huge wire that Radio Shack tries to sell such as 16 guage speaker wire made for 1000 watt boom boxes. I have a 100 amp Auto Custom radio in my 69 truck and 24 guage wire works just fine. Use the same size wire that is on the radio output speaker wire. By following the idiots at Radio Shack, they wanted me to use 16 guage wire and that is like taking a 3/8 inch water pipe feeding a 1 inch pipe to handle the water flow in the 1 inch pipe. I told the idiots at Radio shack that I was an Electronics technician, but they still wanted to teach me Ohms Law. I ignored them, and They sold me the 24 guage wire just the same.

I drilled offset holes (door & door jamb), inserted rubber grommets, and used ordinary stranded 2-wire speaker wires, more years ago than I care to remember. Works well.
