We actually DROVE the blazer today!!!
Yahhhh!!!!
Weekend progress included: 1.Installing the CD player/DVD player, flip down flatscreen TV and the speakers. (lots of wires & had to make a holder for the CD player in the glovebox) 2. New door weatherstripping 3. Put on the visors. 4. Put down front sound deadner and carpet 5. Installed the front seats. 6. Put in new brake, and gas pedal 7. Wired and installed the power window kit 2 WHOLE days worth of work! Whew! But...... We got in that baby and drove around the neighborhood(no seat belts yet so we didn't get to crazy) It was awesome!!!! Now we need to change all the fluids and get the bugs worked out. Also have to finish the doors- still need the windows put in and handles on it. (We did the redneck testdrive.... bungee cords on the doors, but I couldn't wait to drive it!!! I know these things are never done, but we are sure getting close! Diane P.S. here are some pics that I took this weekend.... |

Mac67- The flip down Tv screen has a mounting plate that we attached to a plate that was built into the roll bar my hubby fabbed up. In the pic below you can see that plate on the roll bar.
Also we drilled holes in the roll bar and fished the wires thru the roll bar to keep a clean look without wires. Last edited by 1970blazin; 05-17-2004 at 12:34 PM. Reason: put in picture I forgot |

Thanks guys! Always nice to hear the compliments.
Randy- We did that liner ourselves. $39.99 Herculiner at Shucks! I think it went on nice- well worth the hundreds of dollars we saved from going with Line-x or Rhinoliner. 72C5- We had to buy new tailgate hardware from Frank (Pickmup) our other hardware was sticking and we couldn't get it to work right. Well worth the $$. ;-) |

We aren't sure what we will do about the top (on or off). The kids get blown away in the back seat with the top off....maybe we will just have to go cruisin' without the kids!! :-)

LOOKING GREAT!! I really like the blue and black houndstooth, what are you going to do for door and side panels, stock or something custom?

Door and side panels...
Blazerman- We aren't sure yet about the door and side panels...
Here is a photoshop Bouncytruck did for us, maybe something close to this. We bought 2 extra yards of the houndstooth material. We might do something close to the 2nd pic also....Probably not quite yet as we will need some $$ to get it made by an upholstery shop. Last edited by 1970blazin; 05-20-2004 at 01:40 AM. |

Sounds great! Everyone who is, or has worked on their rig knows the time, care and feeling of accomplishment that is involved in what you are doing.
Enjoy! |
