1980 Differential Questions

I found a 1980 Chevy 3/4 4x4 with a V8, SM465 and NP 205 and need to know if there was a standard or normal ratio for this set up. The glove box is gone and the owner doesn't know. Looks to have a 14bolt rear, not sure on the front. So, anyone able to give some input what I'm likely looking at? Thanks

Since its a 1980 an 3/4 ton, I know you have a Corporte 14 out back, an more than likely a Dana 44 up front. Also, more than likely, your gear ratio is a 410 out back an 410 or 411 up front. You got a killer drive train setup. Have fun with the truck!

I would lean towards a 10 bolt in the front, but they are equal to d44. And you have a 14bff out back unless something else was swapped.

one goodthing about ALL 1980 GM 4x4 trucks: they all had NP205's, regardless of what transmission or what model

one bad thing: all of the NP205's are the slip yoke version, which has a large aluminum tail cone on the rear output. however, this can be fixed with parts from another 205, and there might even be a SYE kit available.

I went back and took a closer look this evening. 10 Bolt Front, Corp 14 Bolt in the rear. He wants to keep the motor and a few small parts, so I got the rest of the truck for a reasonable price. I'll be putting the axles in my 71 SWB after getting them overhauled and prettied up some. I just had to have 3/4 ton axles. I'd already built my 1/2 ton axles and had them under the truck, guess I'll start all over and put that stuff under the Blazer. Thanks for the help.
