Need a 1967-69 Pickup Truck for a Movie in TN
I work for Bradley David Productions, a well-known producer of television programming with national series such as My Classic Car, Corbin’s Ride On and Popular Hot Rodding Television to its credit. We are producing a low budget independent film in Franklin, TN at Dark Horse Studio that dates back to 1973. As part of the set, we want to include a a Chevy-GMC Pickup Truck from 1967-69 to have on the set as a prop for one night. NEEDS TO Original from Outside.
I wondered if you knew anyone with such a model that might be interested in leaving the truck there for one night (more than likely June 3rd) as it would be featured in a film. Thanks! back a few years ago i rented a truck to a movie company shooting a movie called Lonestar State of Mind. they paid me $100 dollars a day for 10 days as well as paid me $1000 dollars to let them paint the interior.
since i hadn't done any restoration at the time i said sure. paid for the ENTIRE ORIGINAL COST of the truck plus some to sink into restoration. now that i've got 90% of my resto done, there is no way i'd do it now. but for someone looking for some money for a project, it's a good deal. |

If I wasn't so far I would most definately offer up my 1969 truck for the opportunity. I just recently bought this truck and besides the wheels/tires and front bench, it's completely original.
Well actually it was originally sold to a NM Volunteer fire department and spent most of it's years as an ambulance. It has 108K on the clock and running the original 396. It's a great solid survivor and I love it. TN. is a long way from Dallas/Ft Worth though.

BTW, here is a picture of it. You can't see it in this picture. but the original window sticker from Johnson Chevrolet of Dallas is still on the driverside back glass.

sounds kind of fishy, dark horse studio? they use your truck and send you a video of the movie along with payment couple of weeks after they are done...you pop the movie in the vcr with your family...early 70's...blonde chick in YOUR chevy pulls into old filling station...it's really hot and muggy out...attendent comes out...big black guy chugging an icey soda...he fills up her truck...goes to collect the money..."im sorry i don't have any money...can we work this out some other way?" the cheesy 70's porn movie music starts up...she goes to back of truck and drops tailgate...you quickly shut off the video...ok kids time for bed...

My old 47 Chevy was used in a movie as well, "Deuce Coupe" was the title. $50 a day for doing absolutley nothing, and I got to see my car on the big screen.

sounds like fun, but i would definately want to know what they would be doing with the truck first! i am seeing explosions, fire, jumps off a cliff, jumps into water, chase and collision scenes... wow the imagination keeps going and going on this one! make me kind of nervous!
