Order Form sent out for Bikini Top
I just e-mailed out an order form and information for the bikini top that TonyP and I have assisted in making available.
If you have not previously e-mailed me your contact information and are interested in a bikini top for a 69-72 K5 - contact me at yukonjackk67@netscape.net.

I got the order form, and I have a B-Day coming up. I will convince my wife of what a perfect gift the top would be :-) Thanks

Just received your email, thanks for all your efforts. I'm looking forward to getting one asap. Looks like I will need to use snaps to fasten the top. If using snaps for the bikini top and you want to install the hardtop for winter, will the snaps have to be removed from the window header in order for the hardtop to go on tight?

Yes, like with the snap top soft tops, the snaps do have to be removed to install the hardtop.

Thanks YJ, I guess any type of fastener for a bikini top would have to be removed. Any idea if this will cause leakage with the hardtop on, or does the rubber seal on the hardtop seal OK. Not that the hardtops are known for being tight anyway. Hope to get my order in this weekend or early next week.
Thanks again

I would think the rubber seal would prevent any additional leaking. Maybe someone with a softtop will respond about this question.

thanks again YJ, one last question I promise. Do you know what material is used for TonyPs bikini top?

I'm not sure but I think he will see this post and respond. I know it is one of the canvas materials, just not sure which one.

I usually put a very small dab of silicone on each snap screw hole when I remove my rag top. I let the silicone dry before installing the hard top. In the spring I just screw right through the silicone.
I used to do this, but the past couple years I am either rag top, topless, or in my 70 C20. :-) |
