Question on painting chrome pieces - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Can anyone tell me what needs to be done to prep a chrome piece (timing cover) to allow me to paint it?

Any info is appreciated.

Gonna need to scuff up the chrome real good but you really need to get rid of the chrome all together jmo if you want to paint the shinny stuff..
