Thumbs up York Comppressors

I finally got the York Compressor hooked up. All I can say is WOW! I totally recommend this "Little Giant" for any and all on board air needs. I've got two 8 gallon tanks. The compressor filled the tanks from 0 to 150 psi in a tick over a minute. The engine was turning at 2000 rpm. This is one fast compressor. Highly recommended!! Though I'd pass that on. Later, FCG

yup, cant beat 9.3cfm at i believe 2500 or 3000 rpms.

What do you need an air compressor like that for in your truck? Trailer brakes?

Just a heads up I noticed that your intake sits lower then your discharge line. I have the same on on my truck and after awhile it will spit oil into your air line. After I mounted the compressor so they were equal level the oil spitting stopped. Also, I talked to the guy that owns Kilby enterprises(they rebuild and sell new Yorks) he told me that at RPMS over 1500 the compressor life span is shortened. Oasis makes the 12v and 24v version of the engine driven york and they have the same problems. If you experience the oil spitting over time look for a Volvo with a York that has the intake on the other side so you don't have to change you mounts like I did. Here is a picture of my truck. I will post a picture of the compressor by tomorrow. Also I hope you put a air cleaner on it because I destroyed my first one when grains of sand sucked in and killed my piston. Don't mean to rant just want to share some information I obtained while doing the same thing. Nice to see someone else using a York. One more thing the York 210 model is rated at 9.4 CFM at 2600 RPMS. I have ran my impacted wrench and cut off saw at once with no problems.

Seeing those pics of your truck just put me back where I need to be.. saving up for air ride. Thanks for the info on the compressor, I was looking into those before, but seeing as my truck is in pieces I almost forgot about them. Sweet truck, and that Lt-1 looks great in there.

God I love that air ride....

I also have a York but my clutch pulley is smaller diameter than what FuelCellGuy has on his so it doesn't fill quite so fast. They're not very good looking, but they work great.

I have a underdrive pulley on the crank, so I am assuming, my compressor is turning really slow.
