Power Steering fluid

Well guys & gals I learned something this past week. I swapped out my PS box on the 68 because the old one was leaking and I had a rebuilt one setting on a restored frame.

I got the box swapped and refilled the PS pump with Tranny fluid. Big mistake! it foamed up and wasn't working well at all. I was over at a nieghbor's a little later and said something about it. He told me that I needed PS Fluid not Tranny fluid. I said that I had always heard that tranny fluid was the same thing.....he said that was a common misconception. PS works at a lot higher pressures and requires a better fluid. So I got out my suck gun and got out what I could of the trann fluid and replaced with PS fluid ..... No foaming and PS works great.

Now I have been working on cars/truck for 30 yrs and had never known this. So you can teach an old dog new tricks. Just thought I'd pass it on.
