Gas Guage Dives Under Braking...
I have been having troubles as of late with my gas guage in my pickup. I replaced the sending unit, and now the gauge works on almost a 1/4 scale. 1/4 tank is full, and empty is empty. But now, when i get on the brakes, the gas guage dives for empty as i put the brakes to the floor. If i hold the brakes down long enough, the gauge will stay down even after they are released. The gauge also seems to throw temper tantrums where it will not work for a few minutes, and then be fine. This problem doesnt make sense to me, and im hopin someone can throw some light on it
thanx alot guys dale

Mine does the same thing so dont feel alone. I'm going to check the resistor on the back of the guage and look at the printed circit board for bad connections.

It is a new resistor for the back of your gauge(the ceramic dodad).
