Need pics and values please
I have a restored 68 Chevy Pickup that had an accident with a tree falling on it. My insurance company's appraiser says my truck is only worth $2500. Yea right! Can you send me pictures of your truck and it's appraisal value so I have some comparisons for my insurance company? Please email to csbaker@hctc.com.

What kind of shape was your truck in before a tree fell on it? Do you have documented receipts, service slips, and pictures that can help an independent appraiser determine its worth BEFORE the accident? That's what I'd do. Prove how much money is in it, and maybe you can get an independent appraisal that's much higher.

Tell him you don't want the money, you want your truck replaced!
Show him some pics of your truck before the damage and tell him to go out and find you one like it, same condition, same mods, etc. Hope you have plenty of pics to show him, then tell him to get to work! [This message has been edited by ebfabman (edited April 03, 2002).] |

You can get your truck apraised still, it won't be as acurate, but they will do it. You need to go to a place that is familiar with classic, antique, and cutom vehicles.
The problem is, you may still not get your$$ from the ins company. If you are trying to get it from your automotive ins agent, they will say that you did not insure it as a custom/classic. Therefor, you are not insured to that kind of $$ amount. If it is someone else's ins, or home owners, ect, they well get you by looking at you insurance policy and say the same thing...not insured for 18,000 , so you must not value it at 18,000. (or what ever the number is you have that you are trying to claim) I hope you can get it all straightened out, and get your rig fixed/replaced. ------------------ '69 G.M.C. 350/350. I had a similar problem with a '79 Peterbilt that I had alot of money in, it got wrecked for me and the other guy's insurance paid for it, they said it was only worth $8500, which was what they determined replacement value at, I told them to buy the truck they found for that money and bring it to me. (this was when trucks were still worth something) They wound up giving me 12,500 for it which was a $3000 profit for me on the truck, best deal I ever got!!!
