the Swampbuck gets painted

I put the 2nd coat of my homemade paint on the truck. After pricing ppg paint I got cheep and went with duplicolor proffessional paint. I never painted a truck or car before so I figured in a couple years I'd use better paint. Any way, I call it homemade because I mixed 3.5 parts of midnight blue metalic to 1 part revin red. Yes I got a dark purple but when the sun hits the curves of the truck it turns blue metallic. I guess its a whitetrash flip flop paint. Well figure I'd show you all that if you bug enough people that know about painting that you too can do a decent paint job. It is no show truck but its better than sitting in the garage in primer or worse yet a junkyard. So go easy on me. And to all you people out there that can paint and produce show quality truck, my hat is off to you, you people are truely skilled.

Looks pretty good to me. You may want to do a wet sand to make it smooth & shiney. Did you do a clear coat?

I painted my first car something similar, but more red than blue. I had 4 coats of black, with 4 coats of burgandy pearl with flakes and then 4 coats of clear. I wet sanded between each coat to make sure it was smooth. It looked pretty good for a garage job.

Hey Bouncytruck, that was my next question. The paint is what duplicolor called a synthetic enamel. So with that type of paint, should I wet sand, buff or what. By the way the last coat was painted monday so how soon should I do anything with it and also does anyone make a clear coat? Thanks

Looks great! What size of lift are you running on it? Trying to get an idea on how much lift I want in mine.
Thanks.

It does look nice. Are you going to paint the top or leave it white?

ALL ONE COLOR
Nice job, you've done a ton of work since I last saw it...awesome!
Is it complete? Meaning, do you have everything you need to get it on the road soon?

That looks really good. Nice to see jobs that people take on themselves. I was going to on my K20 but finally chickened out.

Yes I'm calling it blackcherry. The lift is a 4 inch skyjacker with dual shocks in the front. Tire size as in the pictures is 33 well worn inch's but will try to stuff 35 inch tires since I don't plan on beating it to hard on the trails in northern MI. The body looks fairly straight except for the doors. I'm going to paint the top white since it is black now and I don't think it would look as good if it was white. I would like to put in Mastercraft seats in the front and a stock rear seat. Still thinking on a SW rollcage. Going to AZ next week and plan on seeing wifes Uncle, who just happens to own a resto parts shop. Thanks for all the comments!!!!!!!!
