Rant on Draglinkages
So this is the second time this has happened, but today was the worse. I have an 8 inch superlift with that S-Shaped Drag link that was 2 tie rod ending in it. Last time I went wheeling it got all mis-adjusted when I went to drive over a dead tree on the ground. When I got home, I adjusted everything right, and clamped it together not only with a breaker bar, but then with a 650 ft lb impact wrench. Then I went wheeling today and completely tore one tie rod out of the sleeve. I wasn't even playing hard. That took 2 hours trail side to get it back together because the threads where stripped. It was 90 degrees outside with the humity 100% because it just had stopped raining and every bug that could possibly bite me, bit me. Then worse off, I had to limp home 25 miles in rush hour traffic. This weekend the front clip is coming off so I can replace the power steering pump, lifters, carb, bolt the radiator support down ( They guy I bought the truck from only bolted down one side of the radiator support when he put the 91 burb front clip on) and most importantly CROSSOVER STEERING. Horray, no more guessing if the tires will move when I turn the steering wheel, less wander, a better turning radius, and less stress on the frame! I am stepping off my soapbox now, thank you folks for letting me get that off my chest.

If you go over 4 inches of lift and you want functional steering, YOU HAVE TO GO CROSSOVER, PERIOD.

Time fer me to go to crossover....I took my rig in to have it aligned today, an on the way in, i noticed a grinding that hadnt been there before......yeah, bearings, tie rods, drag link, all the bushings, an **** ton of other stuff is shot on my truck, so instead of a 40$ alignment, Im walkin out of there tomorra about 500$ lighter..... so crosover is definetly on the list when I get the new lift.....that an my power steering box is broke now.....
argh...sorry hijack the thread, but I understand your frusteration Joey-D

I hate getting alignments, everytime I go its one of two things: "We can't do an alignment until you replace this, this, this, and that, then maybe it'll work" or "I am sorry sir, the $49.99 is for regular vehicles, since you have modified suspension and are oversized, the new price is $199.99, your first born, and could you please just go ahead and bend over for us now" But truefully, the differnce is night and day.

I looked at the info site, very informative. I have one question, how do you mount a steering stabilizer if you use hy steer crossover steering? Or do you not need one anymore?
