Steering wheel wobble - fix?
I have a '67 C-10 with PS and Grant steering wheel installed by the PO. You can move the steering wheel side to side/ up to down on the stock (non-tilt) column. The wheel is tight on the shaft, but it looks like the shaft is sloppy in the column.
I looked on a few parts suppliers on the board, but only found replacement parts for the tilt columns. Anyone know where I can get the (bushing/bearing?) for the upper part of the column; assuming that's what the problem is? Thanks,

I've got one but the shipping would be more than you could purchase one locally. If you can not find one, pm me and I give you one for the cost of UPS. But you should be able to find one...Kelly

Check the spring at the bottom end of your column, there is a spring about an inch long that tensions the column shaft. Yours may be weak or broken.

You can get the bearing from your local Chevy dealer. I don't have the part number, we tossed the bag when we fixed the kid's column.

I replaced the upper steering colum bearing on mine for the same reason, and it made no difference at all with the side to side & up and down play. Interesting what Jeepster376 says about the broken or tired spring at the bottom of the column I'll have to look into mine as well, (great tip). Doug
