I am thinking of getting the Old Air a/c system for my 68 and would like to hear from anyone who has done the install. How hard was the install on a non ac truck and how well does it work? I was thinking of cutting the dash for the factory side vents but using the under dash center vent if this is possible.

If nobody has tried Old Air then how about Vintage Air.

I have an old air unit in my truck and love it. The install was pretty easy, clear instructions and everything. I live not to far form their shop so i went and picked everything up. They are very nice guys and very easy to deal with. They answered any and all of my questions and were very helpful. I left the factory heater in place and put the under dash a/c unit in. I cut the side holes and the top vent above the radio. I am not sure if you will be able to run the a/c out the bottom vent like you mentioned BUT i am sure if there is a way they will be able to tell how to do it. Hope this helps.

Rick, how many oz.'s of 134A do you end up putting in the Hurricane heat/cool units?

Mine OLD AIR unit is six years old, still works great. You get a template for all of the factory outlets with the kit. I used the under dash outlets until last year and it was worth the effort to use the factory outlets. Also after you buy a kit any you buy after the first one are $100 discounted if you buy direct. John

I installed a vintage kit, and it was pretty easy, got it done and installed (and removed old system) in a bout a day on my non A.C. truck.
