Rare 67 CST value? (new here, great place :-)

Hey I just found this great place with a google search.

Very cool, thanks Josh, I know it's a lot of work to run a popular forum.

I have been a die hard 67-72 mechanic, since Dad bought our first one in 76.
Have owned quite a few different ones since then. Toughest trucks ever built.

In moving across the state to take a new job, I fear I must part with my rarest one ever: a factory custom ordered 67 CST 10.

I am having a hard time finding out exactly what it might be worth.

What are the best ways to assess the value of these trucks?

It was ordered from Chevy with a custom NewProcess close ratio 4spd for towing.
It has a steel crank (small journal) 327 with 1.94 camel hump heads.
They told me this 327 came out of a Vette after the original 327 got tired.

I installed 72 power steering, and a brake booster so it has power-drums.
Also overloads. All factory parts.

Being new here, I am NOT posting to list it for sale.
Not sure yet about what's ok along those lines.

I am just trying to find out more about the value so I don't get fleeced by anyone, or gouge anyone who can't live without it.

It is still a bit of a project (needs paint, carpet & seat covers), but nonetheless a great running, solid, rare truck.

I see lots of 60-70 CST, a few 68s, but not very many 67s.
Any idea about the production numbers, etc?

Where do you live at? I would say that CST trucks, while harder to find, don't really make a truck worth alot more money. It would depend more on the shape of the body and the mechanicals. However, in '67 the CST package included bucket seats with a middle jump seat that folds down, with a toolbox underneath. This particular seat is worth some cash, as they are pretty rare (and neat).
I will say that the NP435 is a rarer transmission in 67-72 trucks, but it doesn't really add any value. Is the truck short or long wheelbase? If you had pics it would help.

Oh, and by the way, welcome to the board! This is a great place to learn.

I can tell you I purchased a 1967 CST C10 last summer for $6500.00. It was pretty much all restored. The engine, transmission, paint and inter where all redone. I am rebuilding the power steering right now and it needs new springs and shocks yet but that’s about it. It still has the original engine in it. It was a well optioned truck. It came with a 327, auto, power steering, power brakes, AC and AM radio. Every thing works but the radio. It is a LWB fleet side. They where trying to sell the truck for $9000.00 for about a year when I offered them 6500.00 and they took it. They told me they had about 14000.00 in the truck but the kid who owned it just wanted it gone. I see later he built a newer 4X4 with a big lift and tires on it. I thought I got a pretty good deal on it but the more I look around I see these trucks do not bring the money I thought they would. I see some really nice trucks around here going for $5000-$8000. Best way i can tell you just keep doing what your doing ask questions go to car shows check internet and youll see it will come together for you.I started by resto 57 Belair hardtops after 3 i stop and started on 68 pickups ya i got burned a couple of times but thats how you learn in this world of classic cars and pickups good luck and keep going

HI! Welcome to the board from another WI member. Sure wish you would post some pics of the truck, it would be easier to value than just a description. As in anything, the value will depend on condition, options, and part of the country you reside. I just moved from Memphis TN, and these trucks are all over the place there, I have only seen one here in the 2.5 weeks I've been here, and it was a rusted out POS.

Hi everyone,

Thanks to all for the input and the welcome.

I will post some pics as soon as I can. Maybe by tommorrow.

I am just a bit North of Spokane WA. Any board members around here?
It does look like we will be moving to Yakima WA soon.

The truck was new in Utah, then to far Northern Calif (not the coast) and now here. Always in the dry inland NW climate, but no road salts either.
No cancer type of rust anywhere, just some surface rust where the paint is thin.
(well actually where the paint is gone ;-)
