slow starter
hey everyone i have a question. my truck starts great when its cold fires on the first spin almost always. when it gets warmed up even a little the starter acts retarded and slow. is this just the solenoid getting hot? could it be something else and how could i fix it? Thanks

could be timing or a hot solenoid , check your grounds too . hotter engine = more compression so if the ground was weak it woulndt work as well under harder amps

It could be a bad or a hot solenoid if it's Heat Soak you could add a remote solenoid or a heat shield.

My also want to check all the connection's and wireing to and from the starter to make sure evrything is clean and tight... I t would not hurt the clean the battery post either if need be.

I had this same thing last week, went to the parts store and they mentioned a portion of the armatuer (sp?) was bad and when I replaced it I haven't had trouble since. fortunatly mine had a warranty from when I replaced it about 2000-3000 miles back, (thats just over a year ago).
