Gas tank question
I have a 72 C20 which the po relocated the gas tank. I would like to put an original back in the cab. None of the original fuel lines are present.
Can anyone tell me how to determine if I need a tank with the EEC line? Also, do all tanks have the return line in the upper left hand corner, and if so where does this go to? Any info is appreciated. Thanks! |

I have a 72 C20 with three tanks.Mine does not have the carbon cannister. It does have return lines that come from the pump back to the tanks. When I bought it the return lines were plugged. Doesnt seem to make any difference.Dont you like the extra space behind the seat? or are you trying to get it back into original specs.?

Frank, thanks for the info. I would like to go back to original for a few reasons. BTW, are you saying that if you have a carbon cannister you would have the EEC line on the tank? I kinda thought the return line would to the fuel pump just wasn't sure.
Thanks again. Scott |

The '72 has a vented gas tank while the 67-71 are unvented, so the lines and the gas cap are different. If you want, DennyB has a 72 tank for sale and he's right there in Manchester.

Scott, my extra tank is a '72. the EEC line is small & does not take up any more room than 67-71s. look at your floor under seat, is there 2 holes for lines with grommets? if so, this is what you need along with the "U" shaped thingy. did you say you have an under bed tank? want to trade?
