Talking Frame brackets

OK, I searched and found nothing I was looking for so what else is new
I would like to know about 4wd and 2wd frames. I know that there are floor hight diffrences, but do not know about the mounts.
To be more specific, will a 4wd cab bolt on to a 2wd frame? Does SWB, LWB matter?
Also SWB step side frames, will the SWB fleetside bed bolt to a SWB step side frame?
If you have links to other threads awesome or just factual replies even better.

the cabs, & boxes will swap....the 3/4 ton 2wd's & 4x4's have a heavier (taller rear cab mount bushing). the frame bracket is also different . other than a high hump bolt in floor pan on the 4x4s, & 2 wd 4 spd trucks, there should be no mods to the cab to swap them(use the correct bushings for the frame that you have). on the boxes, as long as you are the same wheel base, you are "good to go". best of luck, crazyL

Damn you know alot about these trucks.
OK, so if I have a 3/4 ton cab and want to use it on a 1/2 ton frame I would have to use 3/4 ton rear cab mounts? Is that right? The rear cab mounts are the only diffrence between cabs? And the step side fleet side beds are interchangable on the frames?

Nope, use what you need for the frame. I swapped a 2wd 3/4 cab to a 4wd 3/4 frame so mine were the same. The beds will swap over.

OK, so a 3/4 ton 4wd cab on a 1/2 ton 2wd frame would use the frame mounting hardeware?

from what i understand, you have a 2wd 1/2 ton frame.....just use the body bushings for the frame, & you can mount any cab you want(no bracket swap). the same goes in reverse.....if you have a 3/4 ton or 4x4 frame, use the bushings for the frame & mount any cab you want. Best of luck, crazyL
