Front Cross Member?

while removing the front suspension crossmember I noticed the very front cross member (Circled in photo) is missing. Is this one required? any reason "Not" to replace it?

Yes , you need that crossmember to stiffen the front of the frame.....remember that the steering box mounts up front, as well as the idler arm on the other side. crazyL

Thanks Longhorn, I am new to this frame restoration stuff. Is there anyplace that sells them, other than scrounging wrecking yards?
