ah it aint so bad at least you can see most of the parts on mine the fuel pump is a large chunk of grease and fuel lines are the size of a garden hose.

Yeah, compared to what the 355 looked like (a big glob of dirt with some pullies sticking out of one side, and a carb on the top) thats nothin... That thing was so covered in dirt and grease that I couldn't find the bolts for the tranny, lol

I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO POINT OUT THAT IT IS OK TO WASH THE MOTOR IN YOUR TRUCK DOWN WHEN AT THE QUARTER CAR WASH. IF YOU GET IN THE HABIT OF JUST LEAVING THE MOTOR RUNNING & WASHING IT DOWN, IT WILL NEVER GET SUPER GRUBBY & GREASY. YOUR MOTOR WONT DIE & NOT RESTART IF IT GETS WET. WITH HEIs (TELL ME NO ONE IS STILL RUNNING POINTS) YOU CAN SPRAY WATER DIRECTLY ON THE CAP WITHOUT KILLING THE MOTOR. IT SURE IS A WHOLE LOT NICER WORKING ON A MOTOR WITHOUT HAVING TO DIG THRU 1" OF GREASE. JOHN

My neighbor has a big diesel with a slow oil leak. I said you better get that fixed, he said,"nope, keeps it from rusting underneath, lol". I guess it is the best and cheapest undercoating you can get, hehe.

I've only pulled a few engines, but your engine is much cleaner than any of them! I've put an engine back in that looked like that! (Just don't tell anyone else about that. I'm replacing it w/ a 350, really. I am!)

Hey ed, I am going to try to get down ya'lls way, but I have been working like crazy here lately. I pressure washed it and got most of the junk off. Hopefully I'll have it back in before long.
