New to this / need VIN help

hey everyone, im new to this forum and i was wondering if someone could help me out here. im looking to buy a 68 Chevy C10 down the street from me. as for the Vin its

CE148A155377

I was also wondering about the motor. if im not misstakin they came with either a 307, 327, or 396? well how do I figure out what motor it is. im pretty sure its not a 396, so its either a 307 or 327, and yes its org. its also backed by a 4 speed with a creeper gear. thanks for the help

E=V-8 Gas
1=1/2 ton
4=Cab with Bed
8=1968
A=Assembled in Atlanta
155377=Serial Number

All the above was found on the Vin Decoder page on this site

The engine should have stampings on the block. You can get more info on those stamps and their locations at www.mortec.com

If it had either the optional 327 or 396 engine it will be listed on the glove box door as an option. If not, than you can assume it came with a 307 from the factory. The only way to know for sure what's under the hood is to run the numbers on the back of the block.
