Grille moldings - HELP!

Okay, here's the deal. I was at the junkyard yesterday, and I found a minty set of chrome grille moldings for my '86. They're on an '86 Chevy van. Now the dilemma is this. My buddy told me that he's pretty sure that the measurements are different on a van grille than on a truck grille. So, I called up the dealer and he said that the part numbers are different on a van than a truck, but he didn't know why. As far as I know the grille measurements were the same on a van and a truck, but now I'm not so sure. Long story short, does anyone here know if the measurements for the grille are the same or different for trucks and vans?

Are you talking about the moldings on either side of the bowtie? I think that there was no change from 85-87. If so, and it is the dual headlight version, the moldings on either side of the bowtie are the same on trucks and vans. I checked my 85 parts manual and while the grilles are different, the moldings (15598731 - LH & 15598732 - RH) are the same. In fact, the bowtie and the spacers behind it are also the same on trucks and vans.

Hope this helps.

Sorry, yes it is the dual headlight version and I'm talking about all the moldings. The ones on either side of the bowtie, and also the upper, lower, and side moldings that surround the grille. Thanks!

Grille Moldings - Help!

Sorry about not getting back to you sooner. The only parts that interchange are the moldings on either side of the bowtie, the bowtie and spacer, and the vertical moldings on both sides of the grille, above and below the horizontal moldings. All the trim that surrounds the grille is different between trucks & vans. Hope this helps.
