283 Block
I posted this once on a 55-57 Chevy (car) forum and got no interest........
I was cleaning out my garage and came across a block that I've had since I was 17 (boy, that's been a while!!!) that, by the numbers is a 1957 283, casting number 3731548..... I'm offering it to a 57 enthusiast for the rock bottom price of $0.00 (or a ballcap....)!!!, but it isn't without it's drawbacks.... It's been cracked around the oil filter and repaired (I never even noticed it until I stripped the paint), it has no main caps, and it's a bit rusty. I also can't can't determine the stamp numbers. Give me an e-mail at bcon@alltel.net if ya want it!!!! Barry |

Boat Anchor? I hate ZEROS!
"Danger Will Robinson Danger!" I would say unless someone wanted it for free to use as a flower pot ... or boat anchor ... you might get 5.00 bucks for it at the scrap yard seeing that scrap is in high demand from foriegn steel firms? My two cents worth... rico_bob
