71 voltage regulator

i have a 71 and wanted to know if theres a factory voltage regualtor. mine doesnt have one and wondered if it should.

It should be driver front inner fender if not somebody might have converted it

Next to the radiator on the driver's side on my '71. If your truck has been converted to an internally regulated alternator (a good upgrade), it may have been removed at the time, since it was no longer needed. You will need to know in case you ever need another alternator, so that you get the right one.
