They hang about an inch below the frame. My truck is lowered 3-4 drop, no clearance issues.

I'm useing Hooker supercomp in my stepside with an th-400 and a two inch drop up front. I have no clearence problems with the headers and the were a really nice fit with an automatic. I tried to put them in when I had a 4 speed and boy what a b!tch that was. I couldn't get them in by myself, so I waited a few more months to put them in when I had the th-400. Here are pictures of both sides of the engine, so you can see the fit. I also took them to a local shop to have them ceramic coated for $175. I figured since I had already spent over $300 on headers why not get them coated so they don't rust away. Plus it gives the engine a clean look.

Do you have to change your number 5 spark plug with a wrench?

I can't remember if I had to or not. I can look tonight and find out if I used a wrench or a socket. I also use NGK spark plugs so my wires aren't too close to the headers. AC Delco are too long and will burn your wires.

I have hooker Comps on the longhorn( not the super comps). 1 5/8 primarys, & 2 1/2" collectors.....16 guage tubing! those things are heavy, the fit is good, no trouble with stick shift linkage, & they are about 1/2 the price of the super comps. unless you are running all out(racing), the comps will do you on the hot street scene. the collectors hang approx 2 " below the rails of my 69, & with a 3 " drop on the nose the headers have never touched the pavement. crazyL

1972C10, I'm sorry I didn't check the plugs out last night, I got real busy and forgot. I left myself a message at home for a reminder to check. I will post back later tonight.

Ok, it looks like you will have to change cylinder 5 with a wrench, and maybe 7 as well. You might have to use a wrench, but if it is lowered it easy a very easy task. All the rest you should be able to use a socket and a ratchet. I found that using wobbly extensions are much easier to use and get you in those tight areas.

Chap

Here is a link to the extensions I'm talking about. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=31203

Not a problem 1970C10. I'm glad I could help. Oh about the Bullets from Dynomax . I heard them on a Ferd once and it was the best sounding Ferd I have ever heard (it actually sounded mean) . If it can do that to a Ferd, what do you think it would do for you??? :p In all reality They sound real mean and really low tone. I wanted to run them on my Blazer, but backed out at the last moment.

I have the Hooker Aero chambers in my Blazer with 2 1/4 pipe to the Muffler and 2 1/2 from muffler out. Man, that is really sounds tough and gets me some real looks.

n737nc I sent you a PM. Feel free to email me if you have any other questions. chaptr2@hotmail.com. I don't get to check the board very much, but I check my email all day while I'm at work.

Yeah i picked them up tonight i had owned them at one point of time but sold them to a friend who acutally wanted them that was the reason i bought them for resale at the same price wich was 30 bucks so i managed to get them back at a cheap price and hope to be able to get them on soon

Im thinking of having the 2 1/2 or 3" run back behind the trailing arm crossmember and then having these bullets put to where if i didnt like them a flowmaster will fit there without any mods other than cutting the bullets off

And weld the flows on

I had some flows i got for 92 dollars Pair . But i ran my mouth and sold them with intentions of getting another pair and then thought about these bullets instead of flows.

How far back where the bullets on the fraud you heard?

I had also thought about putting them at the header then having short pipes dump before the crossmember but that leaves no Plan :B

I'm not sure how far back the Bullets were on the ferd and it has been about 6 years since I have seen the car. The only thing I remember is the sound and how aggressive it was. It made more noise then it had for go power.

If you put your bullets on and didn't like them and wanted to replace them with some Flowmasters, then you would replace the Bullets with center in center out Flowmasters and what ever chamber you like. This is the way I would do it.

I would love to have a set of Purple Hornies........... They bolt right on to the collectors and have turn downs built in them. I have a TF case cross member to deal with so I cant use them.

Im going to get the pipes set up for the bullets but im going to have them set the pipes where i could put an offset in center out flowmaster 2 chamber that way the bullets are dumping as far outside as possible and the flowmaster would be away from the driveshaft if i upgrade to flows i had the offset in center out flows and they looked like they would work really well where i wanted to put them.
