The further out on the lever you go the less of a shot you get from the accelerator pump. Move it up and test it, you can't hurt anything by doing it.

I think most are in the center hole.

Out of the box, the rod is in the center hole. I've moved mine to the top- supposedly a better pump shot from there. Hope you get your ignition problem solved.

You'll notice the difference from idle to WOT. I had to move mine to the outer hole because of how rich the carb was running anyway. Runs great on the outer hole - hesitates on the inner one It really depends on your float level setting, your vacuum from intake, and your fuel pump pressure whether or not you'll notice a difference.

Where is your kickdown cable connected? Mine is connected to the hole where your return spring is, but I'm having trouble with my spring not returning to idle, and my kickdown cable limits the throttle. So I need to come up with a better plan.

That's the correct port for the ignition advance.

Middle hole is where mine was out of the box, never moved it, never adjusted it because it ran fine.

My new edelbrock has the rod in the center hole as well Mark. Let us know if you get it straightened out. I'd come up and give you a hand (as long as I didn't have to take a ride in the "RAT" again ), but I've got a ton of stuff on my plate for the next 2 months.....
