Correct 69-72 consoles?

I think I know the answer already but want to verify with the experts.

The original consoles in Blazers/Jimmys, did they only come with the holes for the seat belts (square)? Or did they also come with the cup holders (round)?

I was under the impression that 69-72 consoles only came with the seat belt (square) holes.

Thanks

My understanding is the cup holders weren't introduced until '73. My '72 has the square holes.

I got my console out of a 73-75 Blazer and it has the seatbelt holders so they arent just 69-72 specific.

Just a guess but I think 73 - 75 had seat belt holders and the bow-tie was yellow instead of blue as it was on 69 -72

I,VE PULLED ABOUT 15 CONSOLES OUT OF BLAZERS & PICKUPS, & I,VE NEVER SEEN A BLUE BOWTIE EMBLEM ON THE LID, ALTHOUGH SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE MADE REFERANCE TO IT. IF INDEED THEY DID EXIST, I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A PICTURE , OR SOME KIND OF PROOF. SO FAR EVERYONE THAT HAS SAID THEY WERE ORIGIONALLY BLUE, HAS NOT HAD ANY PROOF AT ALL THAT G.M. SOLD THEM THIS WAY. SEAT BELT HOLDER CONSOLES WERE USED IN BLAZERS TILL 78. JOHN

Found this posted today on ebay.

"This auction is for a good used "center console" that is correct for 1976-80 C/K series Chevy truck, Blazer, & Suburban models equipped with bucket seats. This console will also fit fit 1973-75 models and 1967-72 models and the only difference between this console and an original console is the presence of drink cup holders instead of seat belt pockets. This console can also be used in 1981-87 models but differs slightly in appearance but it does have the same basic demensions."

heres the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...481978837&rd=1

Sooooo, looks like seat belt pockets were stock from '69 - '75. And drink holders from '76 on. Is this guy correct?

My console has a blue bowtie, and seat belt holders. It is original to my 1970 CST Blazer which was originally a 2WD.

John, Here are (3) Blazer consoles all of them from (1) owner 72 CST's. I have 3 or 4 others on the shelf and for a fee I would be happy to spend the time and set them side by side and take a pic. Blue bowties on consoles changed to Gold the same year Blue hubcap bowties changed to Gold. I hope you don't tell me you have never seen BLUE bowties on 72 P.U. hubcaps because I don't have the time or energy to take more pics. I hope I don't sound bitter because I'm not, I just want to clear the air. Thanks to all, Robert

I have seen RED bowties on consoles but I don't remember if they were seatbelt holder style or cup holder style. I figured some guys old lady (no offense to our Lady readers) got bored waiting for her hubby to strike a deal on used parts and while waiting she painted her toe nails red and she decided to do the bowtie at the same time! I can't say exactly what GM did from 1969 to 1972 but I know what I have seen for the last 28 years. I have not parted alot of pre 1970 trucks or Blazers but I know somewhere prior to 69 bowties on hubcaps were RED. John, I just thought you would like to see a BLUE bowtie on a console so I posted the pic.. I do frequent NV and would enjoy meeting you and shooting the $*it about trucks some day soon. Take Care, Rob
