Question Need Some help!

I am thinking of buying a '67 Longbet Stepside. I am not sure what the interior dimensions of the bed are. Does anyone know?

THe truck is in decent shape. Not much rust. Runs ok but needs some head gasket replacements as it burns some oil when you start it. Owner wants $700 for it......

First of all... Welcome and Aloha fellow Tennessean!

I don't know the dimensions... but are you hinging your decision on the size of the bed? Either way it sounds like a nice price.

What motor and trans?

What part of TN?

Good luck with your decision.

Thanks for the welcome.....

I am not totally basing it on the bed size, I was just curious. The trans is 3 speed on the column. Engine is 6 cyl 292....I think that was the optional engine....

ALl of my family is from the Nashville and Greenville areas of Tennessee.

Good to hear from a fello VOL!

burning oil on startup is not a sign of a bad head gasket, worn valveguides or seals is the usual cause
welcome to the board

Thanks

I meant to say valve seals....not headgasket....I had that in my mind for some reason. Thanks for the information though.

I saw the 9 foot bed, does anyone know the width....

Thanks again!

A fine welcome from a transplanted Volunteer (originally Memphis) [just moved here 1 month 1 day ago].

Am I missing something here? Where did the suggestion of a 9 foot bed come from? The only 9 foot bed was a step side, and are quite rare. I Can't wait to see pics

Stepside beds should be 4 ft wide (able to fit a load of plywood being the standard I think).
