UPS found my house!

UPS saves the day! Or should I say weekend! It was either work in the yard or try to get motivated to work on the truck......the choice was made for me with the toot toot of doodoo brown. (aka UPS)
Brakes, spindles, bags and valves came in today!
I'm so damn happy, it feels like a Hallmark moment.

wow...that is hot. Great set up...this board is gonna break me. Everytime I see somehting hot like that (which is about 5x a day) it makes me want to run to the store and just buy something...anything.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I’m trying to get the whole G-machine look. It’s kinda tough with a truck. Tim, as far as parts in the pic’s above, the front brakes are the 13” GRAND TOURING PLUS with McGaughys 2” drop spindles. Rears are 13” TOURING PLUS on Currie Performance axles. (no gun-drilling) Rims are American CL205’s 18x8 5.25 b/s and 20x10 4” b/s, tires are BFG 295/40 and 245/40. I went with the Slam Splecialties RS-72’s on all four corners. As far as the levitation thing with the front wheel, it’s just a floor jack under the control arm.

Ken, I’m kicking myself in the ass now for not taking advantage of the cool spring we had here in Texas. Now that’s so hot and humid, it takes something like these brakes to get me to want to go out and work on the old girl. (especially after mowing the yard for 3 hours!) It looks like we are going to miss the THW with the old 77 this year. Oh well maybe next year.

OK now look what yall dun did to me! I’m sitting in here with the AC set on “frozen foods” tippy typing on the puter and getting lazy as hell.
Maybe a nap will help.

Frank what made you go with Baer? Was it just the name, or did they offer the biggest set up? I am considering big brake upgrades myself....

i am interested in getting a set of aftermarket rotors and calipers that will increase braking by a whole lot yet still use the original factory pads, for ease of getting them, any one have a clue?

Well, a few years ago we installed one of their "Track" systems on a 69 Z28 and were very happy with the quality and ease of installation. Not to mention the brake performance improved immensely. The only problem I've had with Baer was the shipping time for this C-10 system.
It took three and a half months for them to ship it. DAMN! They told me they had never made a "GRAND TOURING PLUS" system for a 73-87 Chevy truck before. ( I swear I saw Baer brakes on one of Jason Hills trucks) Baer said they were just guessing on the stainless brake line length for my kit and if it was wrong to just give them a call and they would make new ones for me. After doing a few test fits with this new brake system it looks like the brake lines are a tad short. Baer is a great company their parts are nice, install is a snap and compared to Stainless Steel Brakes Corporation the price is reasonable.

Say, with all the work your doing to that Blazer of yours, you should slap a set on that bad boy! OH! Ask them to make you some 14' rotors for those 20's on the black 77! YEA! Hell it's only money. You can always go out and make some more.


As far as the Heat Wave.....well I'll see who she looks on July 23 and decide then. hehe.

What's the hurry to get done? When it's done, all the fun is gone. Of course it will fun driving it, but still, we all know the fun part is creating it. Right?? You know when you go to truck shows, it seems the only trucks you see for sale are the ones they call done.

Baer is a great company their parts are nice, install is a snap and compared to Stainless Steel Brakes Corporation the price is reasonable. SSBC has gotten expensive these days. That's why I am trying to decide what I want to do.

Say, with all the work your doing to that Blazer of yours, you should slap a set on that bad boy! It has a full SSBC set up on it now. It's like new, but it's one of their olderr kits before they started building their own calipers. I will end up with Wilwoods on it since that is what comes with the Scotts IFS going on it.

Ask them to make you some 14' rotors for those 20's on the black 77! Actually I am considering building a set up using either the 13" C4 HD or the 13" C5 rotors.

hell ive owned my 77 for 4 months and hte only time i have had in the drivers seat is when it was being loaded on and off the flatbed towtruck to move ot from place to place, soon a driveshaft and put the radiartor core in and it should finally move
