shipping to canada help

Hey everybody. I am trying to ship a grill to a fellow in canada from the US and am having no end of trouble doing so. UPS doubled their quoted rate, and fedex is making it a nightmare. I think I have fedex worked out, but it will take another week or so to get all in order, and then there is questions regarding duties and taxes.

Any suggestions would be great, I feel terrible about how long this has taken Ryan.

Help us out please?

Jay

What you could try is... send to the purchaser via fed ex and make a note on the package that "purchaser will self clear". The package will be sent to a customs depot within Canada. When it arrives the purchaser will be contacted by customs (be sure to include buyers full name, address and phone #). Then all the purchaser will have to do is go to customs and self clear the item. If it is a part for a 67-72 chev truck and it is made in the USA the buyer will not have to pay duty. The total cost is converted to Canadian funds and the local Provincial and GST. tax is payed on the item.

This rids the need to pay a broker to clear the item.
